time flies!

Well it's been a while, the usual. But let me tell you that NOTHING has happened.

We are all ready for Baby Welsh to get here, so any time she wants to come out, she is welcome to!

Currently as I type this, I am 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant... and I am not progressing at all! I was trying to have her on 11-11-11, but since I'm typing this, you have to know she has not made her arrival yet.

We have been busy since my last update with getting all the things for her nursery, preparing ourselves with birthing classes and breastfeeding classes, and just trying to relax (well me anyway). This week I have been trying to get our to come out and meet her anxious parents! You know all those things you read about how to induce labor at home? Yeah, we've done them ALL. Every single one of them. And, alas, still nothing. I have been having a few braxton hicks contractions over the last week, but those mean nothing, so who even cares!

As you can tell, I'm very anxious and ready to meet Cami. And it's frustrating to try all these things, even things from the doctor, and still nothing. Speaking of the doctor, her and I have to discuss our options if I make it to my weekly appointment on Thursday. By the look/feel of things, I'll be attending that appointment. We have to discuss our options of inducing labor or waiting for nature to take over. I've been thinking about it and I think I want to wait for Cami to do it on her own, if she ever does! I want to know what labor feels like without induction. So I guess that's my decision. BUT if she doesn't come by 41 weeks, we'll be induced anyway.

So we'll wait.....

We are anxious to have family come visit for Thanksgiving/Cami's birth. My family will be in town the week of Thanksgiving and Dan's family will be in town the week after! So it will be a nice visit from all of them! Also, since I last wrote, we have chosen "God" Parents for Cami. Since we aren't religious, we don't want to call them god parents, but haven't found a good name for them, besides life sponsors. So when we do, I'll let all of you know! Anywho, we chose Raynelle (of course! ) and Alex! We are so thankful they are in our lives and can't wait for them to meet Cami as well. Raynelle said she was coming in late November and Alex has yet to let us know when he wants to come visit! But we hope it's soon!!! :)

Here is a pic of me and my baby girl (Chloe that is) at 39 weeks:

She is going to be the best big sister! She just doesn't realize it yet! :)

Until next time!

A Recent Update

It seems like all I do is update on here. I'm never consistent with my posts. My apologies to whoever it is that reads this! I have been a real slacker... but for good reason.

A lot has happened since my last post. Most importantly, my best friend is back! Dan made it home safely from his tour of duty. Those last few weeks were the worst, but I managed and although time felt like it was moving backwards instead of forwards, we finally got to reunite!

I arrived to the airport about 2 hours in advance (hey, I was excited) and waited at the top of the mile long escalator for him. The first hug and kiss were indescribable. I had long waited for it, and it was just bliss! So glad to have him home. Then after we both cried, we found out we were having a baby girl! :)

The pregnancy has been good. Uneventful, which is a good thing. The only horrible thing I'm feeling is back pain. And boy does it SUCK. It's never-ending and nothing I do seems to help it. The only thing I haven't done is buy a maternity support belt. I'll try that one day :).

They have moved my due date about 30238403284 times. I am now due in mid November. But, for all the moms I have that read this, we all know she won't arrive when they think she will. She's on her own schedule and will come when she is ready. I'm hoping for a Thanksgiving baby! But will be happy when she does arrive and she is healthy.

I'm still having ridiculous hormonal changes. It's been difficult. I'll just sit and think about her arrival and just start crying. Asking myself "Am I ready?", "Did I do everything I wanted to do before I had babies?", "Will this nursery ever be finished?" etc, etc, etc. It's never ending worry for me and I'm not sure why. At times I know we are ready... we talked and (sort of ) planned this... but now that it's going to happen for reals, I'm kinda nervous. Dan assures me that it's normal (how should he know, but I love his support anyway) and we are ready to be parents. And also assures me that the nursery will be ready!

In other Welsh family news, Chloe has really changed since Dan's deployment. She has calmed down a lot and I hope she is ready to be a big sister! She listens more to me, which if you know her, is a BIG deal. She's a good dog now. Still in her cage when we are gone, but we're working on that.

We are due to come back to Ohio in September. We will be in town for the Air Force Marathon, baby showers, and visiting family!!! I can't wait to be home and see all of my family and my in-laws! It's been so long since I've seen everyone! Oh and I can't wait to see my friends either! It's been a while for that too!

Well friends, until next time :)

recent hiatus!

Well I have a REALLY good reason why I have been slacking on my blog since Dan left. In case you live under a rock, you already know that Dan and I are expecting! It's all I wanted to talk about for the last 13 weeks, but had to keep it a secret until we announced to our family. We chose to announce on Mother's Day. We thought it was a perfect time!

I found out we were pregnant 3 days after Dan left for his deployment. It was VERY hard that first month. I never had morning sickness (still haven't to this day) but I was SO tired all the time. I lost a lot of weight the first month Dan was gone, and actually have managed to keep it off since. So it's been nice, but no worries, I will gain it all back with this baby.

I had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks, 3 days. My baby looked like a blob, but I still had that motherly feeling when I saw the baby. It all became real at that point.

I never felt pregnant and still really don't. I'm not showing that much yet, but it's coming! My next ultrasound will be when Dan gets home. I will be 21 weeks pregnant when he gets back, so I'm hoping to schedule it for pretty much the day after he gets back! I got special permission from my doctor to wait until he gets home even though they recommend getting it done at 18-20 weeks. So I was lucky I could wait a week or 2 longer! We are excited to find out what we are having and I am so excited for Dan to finally meet our baby.

Speaking of that, it's been hard without him. It's a lot harder than one might think. Yes, I am getting along fine without him, but he's missing all of this. I'm sure he's glad he's missing the hormone craziness and the all the exhaustion, but he's also missing my doctor's appointments and my growing/changing belly/body. I have this special connection to the baby, even now, that Dan doesn't have because he can't talk to my belly or anything.   But I am so thankful that he will be here for the delivery and the most important ultrasound!

There will be MUCH more to come on this topic. Until next time! :)

It's getting better all the time.

Good Song.. also so true about Dan being gone! I want to say that time has just flown, but really it hasn't. Maybe in the last week it has, but before that I felt like he was gone for ages when it was only a week! :(

Things are getting a lot better here. I am beginning to deal with being alone and how to cook and fend for myself and only myself. I'm trying to get back into a work out routine. That will make me feel like myself again. I went to the gym yesterday and today so I'm feeling pretty good!

I get to talk to Dan pretty regularly. As I said before, I talk to him for about 45 minutes before I go to work and then when I get off work for about 30 minutes. Then at night, I email me about the goings-on while I am here. If he is not busy, he can email me back and he usually does!

It's been kind of nice at night... usually I'm dead tired around 10 o'clock but when he was here I tried to not fall asleep because he called me an old woman. But now that he is not here, I am off to bed between 10 and 1030 every night! It's very nice considering I get up early to talk to him anyway.

I'm trying to stay busy. I am making a t-shirt quilt. It's coming along pretty nicely. I'll post pictures when it is finished. My parents are coming to visit this weekend!!! Boy am I glad to see them! Then I'll be pretty busy for April. We have my friend Rachel's wedding shower and Easter which seems far but I'm sure will sneak up on me. Then in May I am going home for the Flying Pig Marathon and going up to Virginia for Rachel's wedding!!! Pretty soon it will be June and he will be home in a month!

Here's to staying positive! Until next time....

Over a week!

Well it's been over a week since Dan left. The first couple of days were good. I felt good and I was very positive.. Well that turned for the worse on Friday. I woke up and had a horrible morning. You know, everything that could go wrong, did! Sucky.

Last Friday, I finally realized that Dan was not coming home for a while and I just felt so very alone. I was depressed ALLLL weekend. I didn't eat and didn't want to do anything. You know those depression commercials.. "when you don't enjoy the things you used to enjoy"... yeah that was me. The weekends are so welcome, but that first weekend was lonely. There was nothing for me to do except think about him...

But... I finally came around! I feel SOOO much better.. I am able to eat again and I feel way more like myself that I did this weekend. So I'm glad I am feeling better and I have this positive outlook that will hopefully get me through the next few months.

I have a few things planned this weekend.. The Cherry Blossom Festival started today, so I will be going to that this weekend. I am also making a t-shirt quilt, which will probably take up most of my time. Then there is always painting the trim of the house.. which I will put off until last because I do NOT want to do that. I hope to stay busy and not think about it for a while!

Until next time...    :)

Day 1

Well it's the day after Dan left. Tuesday was pretty rough. I was all emotional basically the whole day. We got to the airport at 1045 (flight at 1330) to check his bags. The man at the counter was nice enough to give me a Gate Pass so I could go through security with him to his gate! :) He said they usually don't let others through be I guess maybe he felt bad for me. LOL.

We ate lunch in the airport and then just hung out at the gate. Then came the hard part. His flight was boarding and he had to go, so of course I was bawling my eyes out and about to go in the corner and lie in the fetal position. But when we went up to check in, the lady scanning the tickets said he could spend a few more minutes with me and they upgraded him to first class! YAY!!! For him and me! I am grateful for the extra minutes, but it was so hard saying goodbye. But I did and then I got myself home (barely) and then was a train wreck the rest of the night. But I survived!

Today
Today was MUCH MUCH MUCH better than yesterday. Sure I still really miss him (and I will everyday) but I just need to get on with it. If I spend my days thinking about him and nothing else, these 4 months are going to move extremely sloooowww.

I talked with Dan first thing this morning. His flight had to make 2 stops until it reached it's final destination. He sent me a google chat at 630 this AM and I was so lucky to get it! It literally made me smile ALLL day. Becuase I knew he was safe and also because I got to talk to him before work! Being at work made it easier. It kept my mind off of things. THEN at lunch he google chatted me AGAIN! Boy was I lucky today! He was at his 2nd stop and I talked with him until he had to board the plane! That made my day pretty good!

I haven't heard from him since, but Raquel (the person he is replacing) said his plane landed and he is safe! So I'm hoping to talk with him maybe tomorrow morning if he is not working. It's kinda hairy right now because I'm not sure when he will be available these first few days!

Just know he is safe and I will be updating all of my readers with information on his journey and my journey here! Until next time! :)

(sorry this was so long)

Saying Goodbye

So this will be pretty short and to the point.

The time has come. Dan is finally leaving.... I've been putting off the inevitable for a while but it's time to face it. I have to drop him off at the airport on Tuesday. His flight is at 1 or 1:30. I am trying to spend these last few days with him and not doing much else.

He is working on finishing our new bed he is building so when he finally does, I'll post some pictures on here. I tell ya, I'm not sure how I will manage to do things around here without him. He's so handy!! But I've got to learn!

I am doing okay right now, but know I will most likely be a hot, hot mess on Tuesday. I will update again after he leaves and hopefully periodically while he is gone so you guys can keep up with what he is doing!

Until next time...
